ToPDF

Paste a screenshot and get a PDF (Ctrl+V scanning)

· Using ToPDF

Half of “documents” today never touch paper: a confirmation shown on screen, a photo someone sent you, a form preview. On a computer, ToPDF accepts a straight paste — press Ctrl+V (⌘V on Mac) on the start screen and whatever image is on your clipboard gets scanned.

The 5-second version

  1. Copy an image: take a screenshot to the clipboard (Win+Shift+S on Windows, ⌃⌘⇧4 on Mac), or right-click an image → Copy image.
  2. Open ToPDF and press Ctrl+V / ⌘V.
  3. The image runs through the same pipeline as a photo — cropping, straightening, cleanup — and lands as a page. Download or add more pages.

Where this shines

  • Photographed documents sent to you — copy from the chat, paste, get a straightened PDF worth forwarding.
  • Screenshots that must become files — booking confirmations, tickets, sign-up receipts.
  • Quick excerpts — screenshot a region of a large document and PDF just that.

If a pasted image is already a perfect rectangle (a pure screenshot), the “crop” simply keeps it whole — the value is the PDF packaging and consistent output.

Paste keeps working with multi-page documents

Paste works while a document is open too — each pasted image is appended as a new page, which makes assembling mixed sources (two photos + one screenshot) painless.

Note: pasting is a desktop nicety — phone browsers don't reliably pass images through paste, so on mobile use the photo picker instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is the pasted image uploaded?

No — paste hands the image straight to the in-browser scanner. Like everything in ToPDF, it is processed on your device only.

Pasting does nothing — why?

Your clipboard probably contains text or a file reference rather than image data. Use “Copy image” on pictures, or a clipboard screenshot shortcut; then paste on the ToPDF tab.

Can I paste multiple images at once?

If your system puts several images on the clipboard, they queue like a batch. In practice most OS clipboards carry one image at a time.
