ToPDF

Scan documents on a Windows PC (photos in, PDFs out)

· On your device

The paper is on your desk; the paperwork is on your PC. The missing link is a scanner — or is it? Any photo of the document (from your phone, a camera, an email) becomes a proper PDF in the browser, with the PC doing what it's best at: big screen, keyboard, file management.

Getting photos onto the PC

  • Phone Link / your phone's sync — photos appear in seconds.
  • WhatsApp/Telegram desktop — save the image someone sent you.
  • USB or cloud drive — the classic routes.
  • Screenshots — anything on screen can become a “scan” too.

Scanning in the browser

  1. Open topdf.online in Edge or Chrome.
  2. Drag the image files anywhere onto the page — one or a whole selection — or press Ctrl+V if the image is on your clipboard.
  3. Pages process in sequence; fix corners with the mouse (scroll-precision + the magnifier) when asked.
  4. Download lands in your Downloads folder; set Chrome/Edge to “ask where to save” if you file as you go.

Windows share sheet

Edge and Chrome on Windows support the system share dialog, so ToPDF's Share button can hand the PDF to Mail, Teams and other share targets directly — occasionally quicker than the download-attach dance.

Frequently asked questions

Can ToPDF drive my USB flatbed scanner?

No — browsers cannot talk to scanner hardware. ToPDF’s model is photos-in, PDF-out. For a flatbed, use its own software, then ToPDF is unnecessary anyway.

Does it work on Windows 10?

Yes — any current Chrome or Edge on Windows 10/11 runs the full pipeline.
