Add ToPDF to your iPhone home screen (works like an app)
· On your device
If you scan more than occasionally, give ToPDF an icon. iOS lets any website become a home-screen app — full-screen, its own icon, offline-capable. Thirty seconds, once.
Install steps
- Open topdf.online in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with the up-arrow).
- Scroll and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
- Keep the name “ToPDF”, tap Add.
The icon appears with your apps. Launching it opens the scanner full-screen — no address bar, no tabs.
What you gain
- Speed: one tap from the home screen to scanning.
- Offline: the engine is cached; the “app” works with no connection.
- Focus: full-screen scanning UI, nothing else.
It remains the same private tool — no background activity, no notifications, nothing stored between sessions.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn’t the option visible?
Make sure you’re in Safari itself (in-app browsers inside other apps hide it) and look under the share sheet — on newer iOS it’s in the second group of actions.
Does it update itself?
Yes — it’s still the website underneath; improvements arrive automatically next time you’re online.
How do I remove it?
Long-press the icon → Remove App → Delete from Home Screen. Nothing else to clean up.
